Important Updates

Hospital Therapists Must Be Enrolled in CIS Starting May 1
Does your child receive care from a hospital therapist? If so, please be aware of a change that takes place May 1, 2013. Starting then, therapists must be enrolled in a state program that offers care to children. It’s called the Children’s Intervention Services (CIS) program. This change applies to providers who treat children for long-term therapy in areas that include:

  • Physical therapy.
  • Occupational therapy.
  • Speech therapy.

Please call us if your child is seeing a hospital therapist who isn’t in the CIS program. We’ll help you find a new one in your area. You can reach us at 1-800-424-5412, Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern. (TTY/TDD users may call 1-877-247-6272.) Remember, the last day your child can see a therapist who isn’t in the CIS program is April 30, 2013.

See a Specialist by Video Without Going Far From Home
We are proud to be partnered with the Georgia Partnership for TeleHealth. Even if you live in a remote area, you can meet with over 200 specialists in more than 40 specialties through video. Ask your doctor for details. Or call Customer Service at 1-866-231-1821. (TTY/TDD users call 1-877-247-6272.) You can also visit the Georgia Partnership for TeleHealth. Or call them directly at 1-912-285-0902.
